Who we are

We are a group of veterans who believe in honoring the memory of our fallen brothers

Our Board of former Marines

Founded and run by Marines, Home of the Brave is an organization dedicated to the Marine Corps motto of Semper Fidelis – Always Faithful. We long ago pledged never to leave our brothers and sisters behind, and we carry that pledge forward with our work today. We are particularly concerned with working to ensure that aging and disabled veterans have access to the high-quality assisted living facilities, long-term care, medical care and other services that they deserve.

There are approximately 380,000 veterans currently living in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Sadly, the Department of Veterans Affairs estimates that there will be only about 170,000 veterans remaining by the year 2030. Of these, 73.5 percent – approximately 125,000 in total – will be Vietnam veterans at or near the age of 80. These aging veterans will require increasingly greater care, but because the total number of veterans is projected to decrease, one or more of Massachusetts’ current VA facilities is likely to close. To address this issue, one of our long-term goals is to provide the transportation and other resources necessary to ensure that all of the Commonwealth’s veterans have access to the care and assistance they need.

In addition to supporting elderly and disabled veterans, Home of the Brave has also made it our mission to ensure that the sacrifices of our fellow veterans are never forgotten
